Accomplished Kids, LLC (“Accomplished Kids,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides educational programs and learning resources for children and families, including children under the age of 13.
Protecting children’s privacy is an important part of how we design and operate our educational services. This Children’s Privacy Notice explains our practices regarding personal information collected online from children under 13 and the rights available to their parents and legal guardians.
This notice supplements our general Privacy Policy and is intended to address the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and other applicable children’s privacy requirements.
1. Our Approach to Children’s Privacy
Accomplished Kids follows several core principles when providing online services to children:
We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to provide our educational services.
Whenever reasonably possible, personal information about a child is obtained from the child’s parent or legal guardian rather than directly from the child.
We design free child-facing learning activities, when possible, so that learners can participate without creating an account or providing identifying information.
We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information.
We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising.
We do not require a child to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity.
When COPPA requires verifiable parental consent, we obtain that consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information online from a child, unless an exception permitted by law applies.
2. Free Learning Resources
Accomplished Kids may provide free educational resources directly on our website, including:
Math flashcards
Reading and phonics activities
Practice games
Skill-building activities
Worksheets and printable resources
Other interactive educational materials
Some of these resources are specifically designed for children to use.
When a free child-facing activity does not need a learner’s identity to function, we seek to design the activity so that the learner is not required to provide a name, email address, create an account, or submit other identifying information simply to participate.
For example, a learner may be able to use an interactive flashcard activity directly on the webpage without creating an Accomplished Kids account.
The website or service providers supporting it may still process limited technical information necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, or support the service, as further described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Information Parents May Provide About Their Children
When a parent or legal guardian enrolls a learner in an Accomplished Kids program or requests educational services, the parent may provide information about the learner, such as:
Name
Age
Grade level
Educational goals
Skills or subjects requiring support
Placement or assessment information
Scheduling information
Information the parent believes is relevant to the learner’s education
Parents should provide only information that is reasonably necessary for Accomplished Kids to serve their learner.
4. Educational Information We May Maintain
When a learner participates in an Accomplished Kids class, tutoring program, assessment, or other educational service, we may maintain information reasonably necessary to provide instruction and monitor educational progress.
This may include:
Assessment results
Skills practiced
Skills mastered or requiring additional practice
Academic progress
Attendance
Participation information
Teacher or tutor notes
Assignments
Learner work submitted through an educational program
Educational feedback
We use this information primarily to provide educational services, personalize instruction, communicate progress to parents or guardians, and maintain appropriate educational and business records.
5. Information Collected Directly From Children
Our preference is to obtain identifying and administrative information from parents or legal guardians rather than directly from children under 13.
However, certain educational activities may involve information provided by a learner as part of instruction, such as answers to educational questions, assignments, projects, or other learner work.
We do not require children to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an educational activity.
When we intend to collect personal information online directly from a child under 13 in circumstances requiring parental consent under COPPA, we will provide the parent or legal guardian with appropriate notice and obtain verifiable parental consent before the collection, use, or disclosure, unless a legally permitted exception applies.
6. Parent-Managed Accounts and Enrollment
For children under 13, Accomplished Kids expects parents or legal guardians to manage:
Enrollment
Purchases and payments
Scheduling
Account and contact information
Administrative communications
Privacy requests and permissions
Children under 13 should not independently provide payment information or create adult customer accounts.
Educational communication between a learner and an instructor may occur as reasonably necessary to provide instruction, feedback, and learning activities.
7. Verifiable Parental Consent
When COPPA requires parental consent, Accomplished Kids will use a method reasonably designed to verify that the person providing consent is the child’s parent or legal guardian.
Before obtaining consent, we will provide the parent with appropriate information regarding:
What information we intend to collect
How we intend to use it
Whether and why it may be disclosed to another party
How the parent may exercise their privacy rights
The method used to obtain consent may vary depending on the information involved and how it will be used or disclosed.
Where COPPA requires separate consent for disclosure of children’s personal information to a third party, we will obtain that consent unless the disclosure is integral to the service or another exception under applicable law applies.
Parents may withdraw consent as permitted by law.
8. Third-Party Educational Services
Accomplished Kids may use third-party service providers and educational platforms when reasonably necessary to provide our programs.
These may include services used for:
Video conferencing
Educational activities
Learning platforms
Scheduling
Website functionality and hosting
Payment processing
Parent communications
Security and technical operations
Before incorporating a third-party service intended for direct learner use, we seek to evaluate its privacy practices and suitability for the intended educational use.
We seek to share children’s personal information with service providers only when reasonably necessary to provide or support the service and subject to appropriate privacy and security considerations.
We do not knowingly disclose children’s personal information to third parties for targeted or behavioral advertising.
Where COPPA requires separate verifiable parental consent for a third-party disclosure, we will obtain that consent.
Third-party platforms may also have their own privacy policies and terms governing their services.
9. Advertising and Marketing
Accomplished Kids may advertise and market its educational programs to parents and guardians.
We do not knowingly:
Sell children’s personal information;
Use children’s personal information to create targeted or behavioral advertising profiles; or
Disclose children’s personal information to third parties for targeted advertising without the parental consent required by applicable law.
A child’s participation in an Accomplished Kids educational activity is not conditioned on agreeing to unnecessary collection or disclosure of personal information for advertising purposes.
10. Cookies, Analytics, and Technical Information
Our website and the service providers supporting it may use limited cookies, persistent identifiers, or similar technologies for purposes such as:
Providing website functionality
Maintaining security
Preventing fraud or misuse
Troubleshooting technical problems
Maintaining user preferences
Supporting the internal operations of the website
Because Accomplished Kids provides child-directed resources, we seek to limit unnecessary tracking on pages intended for direct use by children.
We do not knowingly use children’s personal information or persistent identifiers to create behavioral advertising profiles of children.

11. Parents’ Rights
Parents and legal guardians have important rights regarding personal information collected online from their children.
Subject to applicable law and appropriate verification, a parent or legal guardian may:
Ask what personal information has been collected online from their child
Review personal information collected online from their child
Request deletion of their child’s personal information
Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child’s personal information
Withdraw previously provided consent
Ask how their child’s information is being used
Ask whether their child’s information has been disclosed to third parties
Parents are not required to consent to unnecessary disclosure of their child’s personal information to third parties in order for the child to participate in an activity when such disclosure is not integral to the activity.
If a parent asks us to delete information or stop further collection, we will honor the request as required by applicable law. In some circumstances, doing so may mean that we can no longer provide a service that reasonably requires the information.
12. Data Minimization
We seek to collect only the personal information reasonably necessary for the educational or operational purpose for which it is collected.
We do not condition a child’s participation in an activity on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.
13. How Long We Keep Children’s Information
Accomplished Kids does not retain children’s personal information indefinitely.
We retain children’s personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the specific purpose or purposes for which it was collected, provide requested educational services, maintain appropriate records, satisfy applicable legal or accounting obligations, protect our legal rights, or fulfill another legitimate purpose permitted by law.
We maintain data-retention and deletion practices addressing children’s personal information.
When children’s personal information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or another lawful retention purpose, we will securely delete or dispose of it using reasonable measures designed to protect against unauthorized access or use.
14. Protecting Children’s Information
Accomplished Kids maintains reasonable procedures designed to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personal information collected from children.
Our safeguards are intended to be appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the information we maintain, the nature of our services, and the size and complexity of our operations.
When we provide children’s personal information to a service provider, we take reasonable steps to use providers capable of appropriately protecting that information.
No online system can guarantee absolute security, but protecting learner and family information is an important part of our operations.
15. Photos, Videos, Testimonials, and Student Work
Accomplished Kids will not knowingly publicly use an identifiable child’s photograph, video, testimonial, educational work, or similar content for promotional purposes without appropriate authorization from the child’s parent or legal guardian.
When appropriate, permission for promotional use will be requested separately from ordinary participation in an educational program.
A learner will not be denied ordinary educational services merely because a parent declines optional promotional use of their child’s identifiable content.
16. Changes to Our Children’s Privacy Practices
We may update this Children’s Privacy Notice as our programs, educational resources, technologies, or legal obligations change.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this notice will identify the most recent revision.
If we make a material change to practices involving children’s personal information for which parental consent was previously obtained, we will provide parents with additional notice and obtain new consent when required by law.
