Class Format
Our homeschool math classes are live, structured learning sessions designed to help students clearly understand math concepts and build strong foundational skills.
Live Online Instruction
Classes meet live via Zoom with a qualified teacher. Each class includes 45 minutes of guided instruction and meets twice per week for a total of 20 live class sessions over 10 weeks.
What Parents Can Expect Each Week
Each week students participate in two live 45-minute lessons designed to build skills step-by-step.
During each lesson, students will:
• learn a new math concept through clear teacher instruction
• see step-by-step demonstrations of how problems are solved
• practice solving problems together as a class
• work through problems independently with teacher support
Students will also receive weekly worksheets and extra practice through the online classroom. These assignments help reinforce the skills learned during class.
Parents can expect their child to spend a small amount of time each week completing practice so that the concepts taught during class are strengthened and retained.
Online Classroom Access
Families will also receive access to our online classroom, where students can:
• access weekly worksheets and extra practice
• submit work for grading
• ask questions to the teacher
• interact with classmates in a monitored learning space
Additional practice may be posted throughout the course to help reinforce concepts learned during class.
Participation Expectations
To maintain a focused learning environment:
• Cameras must remain on during class so students can actively participate.
• Only the enrolled student may attend the class session.
• Students should come prepared with paper, pencil, and a quiet learning space.
Is This Class Right for My Child?
This class is designed for students who are ready to begin learning multiplication and division concepts while strengthening multi-digit addition and subtraction skills.
Students who benefit most from this class typically:
• can comfortably add and subtract basic numbers
• understand basic place value
• are ready to begin learning multiplication and division
• can follow along in a small group learning environment
Because the class begins with multi-digit addition and subtraction and quickly moves into multiplication, students should already be comfortable with basic addition facts.
If a student is still working on very early math skills such as simple addition (for example 2 + 3), they may need more foundational practice before joining this class.
Starting the class with a strong foundation allows students to keep pace with the lessons and gain the most benefit from the course.
If you are unsure whether your child is ready, we are happy to help guide you toward the best option.
Certificate of Completion
Students who attend the full course will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the 10-week program.
Flexible Enrollment
Families may cancel at any time with a 48-hour notice before the next class session.
Materials Needed for Class
To help students participate fully during each lesson, please have the following items ready for every class:
• Reliable internet connection to ensure students can participate smoothly in the live Zoom class
• Paper and pencil for working through practice problems during class
• A device with camera and microphone so students can participate and interact with the teacher
During class, students will often solve problems on their own paper while the teacher works through examples on the board. Students will then submit their answers in the chat, allowing everyone to practice at the same time and receive feedback.
This approach helps ensure that every student stays actively engaged in the lesson and gets the opportunity to practice the skills being taught.
Schedule
Class times are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and spots are limited due to our small class sizes.
Students enroll in a complete class section, which includes both scheduled class days each week (for example, Monday and Wednesday). When a student enrolls in a class time, they are reserving that spot for the full course schedule.
A $15 non-refundable registration fee is required to hold your child’s place in the class.
Once registration is complete, our team will confirm enrollment and send your family a welcome packet with class details, Zoom access information, and instructions for accessing the online classroom.
